The Portorož airport, serving the Koper area, is used for passenger, tourist and business flights.

For most airlines, the airport of Friuli Venezia Giulia, in Ronchi dei Legionari, is the first alternative to Venice and Ljubljana. It does not have natural obstacles, enjoys good visibility and is always operative. It can be easily reached both driving along the SS14 Trieste-Venice National Road and the A4 Trieste-Venice motorway, to which it is linked through a connection road which enables to get directly to the airport parking area. The cargo terminal includes a warehouse with refrigerating rooms and safes for custody of valuables. All operations are possible on any kind of airplane and with any kind of goods, pallets, ULD containers and cargo intermodal transfers.
The Marco Polo airport of Venice is, in association with the Treviso airport, the third airport system in Italy. In the last ten years, it has been completely renewed to satisfy the needs of the new independent state, and an additional series of works has been planned. It operates passenger transportation services (serving one million people per year) and cargo transportation services (approximately 12,000 tons per year), for a total of approximately 35,500 annual flights surrounded by logistic services, warehouses and commercial businesses. It is near the city, to which it is well connected.
The airport of Portorož is located near the Slovenian-Croatian border, only six kilometres away from Portorož and close to other tourist towns such as Izola (13 km), Koper (20 km) and Umag (15 km).
